Guzhang Maojian Tea
Guzhang Maojian tea is a well-known tea with a long history. In Tang Dynasty, it was presented to the court, and in Qing Dynasty served as a tribute. For the unique quality of Guzhang Maojian tea, it is picked before the annual Tomb-sweeping Day as bud tea or the bud in early development, and then undergoes eight processes of spreading, fixation, kneading, frying, cooling, shaping, drying and screening, in a precise manner, to be refined into "Mingqian tea"(a tea that is produced before Tomb-sweeping Day). The cooked tea has tight and thin strips, tall and graceful tips, green and sleek color, fine white fur; rich fragrance, cool taste, refreshing aftertaste; green and light steeping water, tender and even leaves. The tea was displayed on International Fair in Leipzig, Germany. Since 1980, it has been elected as a well-known tea of Hunan Province for five consecutive times. In 1982, at the national famous tea competition held by Department of Commerce in Changsha, it was rated as a “National Famous Tea”, and in the same year, Ministry of Foreign Trade issued a “High Quality Product Honorary Certificate.”.
